Are you struggling to find satisfaction? Jesus offered us a clue to why we are not satisfied.

Jesus taught, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” (Matthew 5:8). Blessed means “satisfied.” Consequently, an impure heart, one with mixed devotions, leads us to dissatisfaction.

However, the God of the universe demonstrates His kingdom in our hearts and lives when we surrender any mixed devotion to Him, and only then can we be truly satisfied.

We see this illustrated in the molding of silver or gold. The metal refining process continues until the refiner sees his reflection in the metal. Likewise, Christ our Restorer continues to refine us, searching for the reflection of His pure heart in our lives (Romans 8:29). When God sees the Restorer in us, we see God.

David said that our desires will be satisfied when we see our Creator. “And I — in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness” (Psalm 17:15). He said that God shows Himself pure to the pure in heart, but He judges those with mixed devotions (2 Samuel 22:27; cf. Psalm 18:26). Addressing those with impurities, God promised to reveal himself to anyone who would seek Him with all of his heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

Today, seek God with all your heart and find satisfaction.
