After the Jewish captivity, Nehemiah rebuilt the Jerusalem wall, Zerubbabel rebuilt the temple, and Ezra rebuilt the people.
While God was restoring my company, I realized that He had shaped my heart to be like Ezra’s. I had a passion to rebuild people. I attempted to place relationships ahead of remuneration, people ahead of profit. The result was deepened community with our customers, vendors, employees, and even our competitors.
As I tried to leverage every opportunity in the marketplace to communicate Christ’s message of restoration, I was blessed to engage in conversations with others about the challenges of life and God’s desire to restore us to authenticity, the original design of the Designer.
God’s design is that we would be His agents of restoration everywhere we go. Paul taught: “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18).
Have you surrendered your life to the cause of rebuilding people? It is the most satisfying endeavor on earth. Today, surrender to the One who desires to use you to bring His restoration to others.
